Does studying acting make for better actors?
It seems about half of successful actors have studied acting, and the other half just do it.

Yes, I pulled that stat from thin air. But I don't see any special "tier" of actors who are good because they studied.

Few of the old-time actors ever studied it - Spencer Tracey, Katherine HepburnJames Stewart, Humphrey Bogart. Of course a lot of the more modern greats did - Brando, Deniro, Hoffman, Streep, Pacino...

Who are the greatest actors who never studied?
