I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. I couldn't help it.

Flog me, delete me, make me do mean things to my dog with a fork.

4. As Tsar of Russia, I take offense...
Lucky for me, my wife found this really neat cleric who can cure it:

5. You know, this one time...
I was playing in a softball game - I was the runner on second. The ball was hit between second and third, and I plowed into the third baseman while he was fielding the ball.

he was a hemophiliac, and I hit his head so hard he started bleeding all over. They had to take him to the hospital.

I felt pretty bad.

8. It's a serious disease. And a sad one.

9. Yup.
After I found out why he had to go to the hospital (I was a bit out of it myself for a while) I really admired him for getting out and playing the game. It was pretty risky, considering that there are lots of jackasses like me running around head-butting people.

He was doing his best to live a normal life despite his disease, and that is commendable IMHO.

10. Glad he's okay and I can only imagine how you felt after the initial
incident.

11. They threw me out of the game
Quite rightly so, according to the rules, but I don't think it mattered - I was out of commission for about a half an hour.

He didn't make it back for that game, but I think he played later on in the tournament (it was double-elimination). I always think of him when I'm tempted to wuss out of working out.

13. Wow, that is so strange.
I've known two hemophiliacs in my life and they both died from injuries while playing baseball.

14. What are the odds?
Maybe baseball/softball are far bloodier games than I realized. I just thought this was an outlier.

15. both were caused by internal bleeding
One of the boys was hit in the temple, I'm not certain where the other boy was hit. But they were both just in their teens.

12. It was originally a copycat thread in GD, moved here by the mods
So, out of context, might've seemed like a legitimate thread...:)
