5. Brazil
But I'm not gonna spoil it.

Actually all of Terry Gilliam's movies have surprise endings-- with the possible exception of Fisher King, where the surprises happen earlier, and given those, the ending is typical Hollywood schmaltz, although I still love it.

17. It's a tie..
.. either the twisted ending of Se7en - or the VERY twisted ending of Arlington Road. The latter really had me shocked for a while.

24. It was a tough vote. The Sting and The Usual Suspects are a tie, IMO
The Sting came first, and played the audience for a mark. It was brilliant. I never tire of watching it, even though I know 'how it comes out.' And the music is priceless, to boot.

The Usual Suspects dangled the truth out there all through the movie, if you were sharp enough to cut through the distractions, but most (including myself) couldn't see the forest for the trees until the very, very last moment. That's why we keep watching it again and again...watching Kevin Spacey's performance is riveting, and the final scene is just so satisfying.

In the end, I could only vote for one. Guess which. :)
