1. Oh yeah! We used to play that, too!
Pretty much always ended up in total mutual destruction of everything.

5. No, but I did play Supremacy
And yes -- sometimes when I was losing I'd do anything to cause a Nuclear Holocaust. (If you have played the game and say you never did that, you're lying.)

6. Supremacy ROCKED!
Played that a lot at college.

But yeah, the one shortcoming of the game was that it was pretty much impossible to win, because it was way, way too easy for someone who was obviously going to lose to just destroy everything and make losers of everyone.

But then, perhaps that's the beauty of the game - a lesson that, once the nukes start going, the whole world is utterly fucked.

It really ruined the play of the game, though, IMO.

8. Uh... no. Sometimes the other players WERE able to prevent it.
At least in the games I played.

9. No, most of the time for us, it ended in a free for all
total destruction.

Not always, but mostly.

10. You people didn't buy Laser Stars enough
(Or whatever it is they're called in the American edition).

You always have to have one more than the other guy has nukes, IIRC.

11. That could very well be
It's been a long time, so I don't remember exactl how or why it always happened, but there was always someone weak on the board, and that rule that says if you are nuked you get free nuclear retaliation against ANYONE.

That was what made the mess.

And we had the Canadian edition, so it was Laser Stars.

12. Love that game. Played it thousands of times in college.
About 80% of the time, everyone was wiped out, but we were too drunk/stoned/tired/high-on-life to care.
