Chapter I
They say that you shouldn't ought to take too many chefs into the kitchen if you want to make a decent broth. That was probably my problem from the get-go, but I didn't see it on account of I never learned to delay gratification. I wanted everything I wanted to be in my hand the second I wanted it. But I didn't want to do it all by myself. I wanted company.
1. Little did I realize that that company would be misery. Misery like
I could never have imaged. Misery that would change the lives of everyone I have ever, or would ever know. Misery that came packaged as a kind, sweet, gentle little old lady.
