Would you like to live to be 100 years old?
I'm not sure I would.

1. Yeah, if I'm still healthy and have enough $ to take care of myself
Other than that, I dunno.

2. Yes, I want to be an old person
I am determined to miss middle-age, and jump straight from youth to old.

I want to walk down the street using a walking-stick which I can brandish at random children, and mutter about the degeneration of the young.

3. I can't imagine wanting to,
On the other hand, iI hate missing out on things...so if I was healthy and happy and close to my family, then it might not be so bad. My grandmother is 88 and amazingly active and happy.

Just so long as I'm able to take care of myself and when my time comes, to load up on as much as I can eat. Don a kilt, then take some laxatives. Find a nice public carpeted place (preferably *'s future presidential library), hold for as long as possible, then the gun goes in the mouth.

*BANG*

*SPLAT*

I get bonus points if it's on a carpeted Presidential seal.

6. Probably not, but I just might anyway.
My mom's side of the family is very well-preserved, to say the least. My great-grandmother lived to be three months shy of 100, and I have one great-aunt who turned 92 in December, although my own grandmother "only" lived to be 81. Just about all my great-aunts and uncles on my mom's side have all lived well into their 80s, most into their 90s.

8. Only if I enjoyed being alone.
Not only would my way of life be gone; so would most of my friends and relatives. I don't think there's anything sadder than a wake for a really old person; there's hardly anybody there.

11. I am assuming we'll be living in a fascist state by then
the world will be one giant fascist state ruled by the Bush twins.

12. We'll probably be enslaved by cyborgs by then
Or the world will be run by those Damn Dirty Apes!

There was a woman here in my area last year that just passed away at 116. At her death she was full coherent with no dementia of any kind and had many family members with her. That's the only way I could handle it. Human life expectancy isn't supposed to be that long. Modern science and medicine prolongs life beyond what it's supposed to me. The world truly sucks. There's no need to stick around to watch it degrade further. I long for the comforts death will bring.
