I am clean. Oh and the adminstrators have no idea who I am, since I am sooooo saintly. The teacher read it aloud and laughed at it. At least I didnt nominate My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion.

10. Yeah man
Being shy makes things really hard. What really bugs me is when not so shy people say "Just talk more and stuff", ummmmmm yeah, I am sorta afraid of people and you expect me to talk up a storm. I can talk to pepole just fine I guess but at heart I always will be and am an introvert who is shy.

19. Wow me too
Oldest and my closest brother in age is very much my opposite. I never get in trouble at school, because well part of being shy I guess means you dont get in people's face, now my brother on the other hand is very much the kinda in your face kinda guy who is what many would consider an asshole, and he thinks hes tough shit, hes way more outgoing than me and hes always getting himself in trouble at school for a variety of things.

7. "California Dreamin'"
CALIFORNIA DREAMIN'

(Phillips-Phillips)

All the leaves are brown and the sky is gray
I've been for a walk on a winter's day
I'd be safe and warm if I was in L.A.
California dreamin' on such a winter's day

Stopped in to a church I passed along the way
Well I got down on my knees and I pretend to pray
You know the preacher liked the cold
He knows I'm gonna stay
California dreamin' on such a winter's day

------ flute ------

All the leaves are brown and the sky is gray
I've been for a walk on a winter's day
If I didn't tell her I could leave today
California dreamin' on such a winter's day
California dreamin' on such a winter's day
California dreamin' on such a winter's day

29. Let the River Run by Carly Simon
My high school was a small, rural school. We had 80 kids in my graduating class. Some of the Xians wanted Michael W. Smith's Friends but I convinced enough people to use a more recent song. Besides, the lyrics are much more approrpriate for a bunch of 18 year olds.

We're coming to the edge
Running on the water
Coming through the fog
Your sons and daughters

Let the river run
Let all the dreamers wake the nation
Come the new Jerusalem"

34. no offense
but how is carly simon more recent that Michael W Smith?

Let the river Run is from 1966...

but good call anyway.

The unoffical song was "Fuck da Police" not bad for a bunch of rich white kids at prep school, yes we we're going for irony.

My personal contribution was "rat race"

Uh! Ya too rude!
Uh! Eh! What a rat race!
Oh, what a rat race!
Oh, what a rat race!
Oh, what a rat race!
This is the rat race! Rat race! (Rat race!)

Some a lawful, some a bastard, some a jacket:
Oh, what a rat race, yeah! Rat race!

Some a gorgon-a, some a hooligan-a, some a guine-gog-a
In this 'ere rat race, yeah!
Rat race!
I'm singin' that
When the cat's away,
The mice will play.
Political voilence fill ya city, ye-ah!
Don't involve Rasta in your say say;
Rasta don't work for no C.I.A.
Rat race, rat race, rat race! Rat race, I'm sayin':
When you think is peace and safety:
A sudden destruction.
Collective security for surety, ye-ah!

Don't forget your history;
Know your destiny:
In the abundance of water,
The fool is thirsty.
Rat race, rat race, rat race!

Rat race!
Oh, it's a disgrace
To see the human-race
In a rat race, rat race!
You got the horse race;
You got the dog race;
You got the human-race;
But this is a rat race, rat race!

We were all terribly excited. Too bad the school vetoed it and assigned "In My Life" instead.

In case by some sad, sad, sad, chance, you are unfamiliar with it, here goes:

We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey teacher leave them kids alone
All in all it's just another brick in the wall
All in all you're just another brick in the wall

77. Something dumb, I'm sure.
The voting was a sham at my school (a lot like voting in a Presidential election), because the admin would always override the student votes.

78. We had two
Sarah McLachlan -- I Will Remember You
and that song Save Tonight, by whomever. The Student Council didn't want another slow song, so they rigged it so there was two.

I graduated in 1999, so at least we were smart enough to not pick Prince's 1999.

79. Unofficially, "Don't You Forget About Me" by Simple Minds
"The Breakfast Club" came out in spring of '85, and caused quite the sensation in my high school, as I recall.

"Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears had come out in late '84 if I remember correctly, but it was still getting a lot of airplay as well, and so was Madonna' one-two punch of "Into the Groove" and "Crazy For You."

I just got an invite yesterday to my 20th reunion--I'm mulling it over. Haven't seen a lot of folks since at least '86 or so.
