Personal pet peeves. What's yours?

People who (sometimes intentionally) misspell high profile people's names. I'm not going to mention any specifics, but if a person sees a name in the news ten billion times a day, one would think that person would spell the name correctly when referencing him/her.

So what's your pet peeve?

1. 'tell us about yourself' threads.

2. People who pronounce Iraq like "eye-rack"

3. No towel in the kitchen to dry my hands with when cooking.

That pisses me off.

4. people who think in "black & white" terms

and naive people. Oh and partisan purists and people who don't understand how hard it is keep a cat indoors for at least two weeks.

5. People who use "u" instead of "you"

Actually, any kind of shorthand at all annoys the hell out of me.

7. Grocery store "in-etiquette"

Far too many pet peeves on this subject to mention them all. But, here are a few:

* reckless and fast driving in the parking lot
* unruly and unsupervised children (especially ones pushing those damned kiddie carts)
* folks who jump in line at the meat / fish counter
* people who obliviously clog the aisles with their carts while gossiping with a friend
* kids who taste the "samples" and then toss their used toothpicks with the fresh ones. (I chided a child for doing this last week! The parent was nowhere in sight)
* folks with colds or the flu who sneeze or cough while handling all of the produce. (I've seen this happen a lot!)

8. Cell phone use in moving motor vehicles and lousy grammar

9. Simpletons who look at a group of

brown-skinned people they've never met and label them as "AY-rabs" or "Mexicans."

They can honestly look at people and immediately tell where they're from? :eyes:

10. America's fascination with people who are considered famous

but really haven't done anything to be famous. Like why do I know that Nicky or Paris Hilton exist? Why is Ann Kournikova famous when she has never won a major tennis match in her life.
