I'm even willing to go bac to the National Capital Region if the money's right.

I prefer to stay here on the East Coast if I have to relocate.

2. Hey, I've got two or else I lose everything. And I have a son. I just lost
a job today. The only thing is that I hated this place and haven't slept on a Sunday night for months. Truthfully, the only thing I care about is the paycheck.

4. What kind of job you looking for?
I had to change from education (overqualified) to office work in order to get a job. I found that knowing Quick Books helped me land the position-its the software most small businesses use. Doesn't take long to learn-maybe this would be something you could look into.

49. Have you considered being a bee keeper?
Diane Rehm had a guest on today, she just wrote a book about her amateur honey-bee keeping career. Did you know that not only can you sell the honey, but the bees are needed to produce almond crops in California ? They had a shortage of bees for over three hundred almond farms, or something like that, last year.

The way I see it, when the economic disaster befalls us -- and it will -- this would be a really good way to make it. A natural resource that will always be in demand no matter the economic circumstances.

Except for the part about going into encephalitic shock should you be completely allergic, it sounds like something I might consider if I had no job. ;-)

22. Put out the word.
My son-in-law is working for the boss-from-hell. He NEEDS to change jobs. I sent e-mails to everybody I know telling them he was looking for a new job. A cousin had a son whose brother-in-law was looking for someone with my s-i-l's qualifications. Interview and possible job offer.

A friend happened to know someone else looking to hire. Another interview.

Leaving one interview, my s-i-l ran into a buddy he hadn't seen since school. "You're looking to change? Come talk to us." Another interview.

Another friend said "Send me his resume."

The network is amazing. It's who you know who knows somebody who knows somebody that gets your foot in the door and gives you jst that little edge so you can show what you got and what you can do.

40. Mr Scorpio-I have a good-luck story to tell you
and I hope it rubs off.

I was out of work for a year and a half, and after posting 5000 (?) resumes, I finally went to a temp agency. They directed me to an assembly job-$8.00 an hour. I know how to live on that, so I did. AND I had fun.

I was there a year when I started getting in their faces about graphic design, and how I knew all there was to know. They gave me a week to prove myself, and a week with 12 hours of sleep total is hard, but it can be done. They hired me as a full-time graphic designer. I've been firmly embedded in that position and in that family for two years.

From what I know of you, I am certain you will pull through anything. I'm going to give you well wishes. I'm confident about you. Also, I was thinking of opening a restaraunt in NC called "The Schoolbox" with my friend Dani. That's just a dream for now, but we'd want you to tend bar, baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!

many good wishes and luck,
Sugar Smack
