Typical Bertha.

Yesterday Mrs. V. and I did major housecleaning so a refi officer and an appraiser wouldn't be appalled. With about four good hours left in the day, I bent over to pick something up, reached across my body, and POW. That was it. One little muscle or something in my back said "god dammit, that's ENOUGH!" and I was done for the day.

Mrs. V. had to help me upright, and I sat in her good chair and didn't move for about three hours. I'm still fucked up.

Why is this "typical Bertha," you ask? Because whether it's conscious or not (and it's really not, I swear) when the going gets tough, the slothful finds a way to duck out. :eyes:

23. The Appraiser Came By
I just happened to have a copy of an appraisal report from two years ago. I asked Jack-the-appraiser-guy if a copy of that report would help him out, and, gosh, was he psyched! He said having access to that made his job a piece of cake, so all he had to do was make photos of the exterior of the house and he was finished!

I'm glad I was able to make his job easier; he was very nice.

24. That is like the BEST GIFT EVER for an appraiser!!!

No city hall visit for flood map, or legal description or anything...I would have kissed you full on the mouth. But I would have measured for my own peace of mind. Everyone is prone to making mistakes on measurements.

We appraisers are a wrongfully labeled bunch. We're in it to help you out...and not the loan officer(if we are ethical). :hi:

25. I Had Copies of the Surveyor's Plat Map, Too
So it was pretty easy for Jack-the-appraiser-guy to verify the information on the other appraisal report.

It is such a beautiful day here in Waldorf. I wish all my DU buddies could share it with me.

13. you should be on muscle relaxer & daily alleve
it sounds like you have a lower back muscle spasm - it will compress all those sensitive little nerves around there and cause extreme pain, which makes the spasms continue.

The nerves get inflamed from being constantly mangled by the spasm and the muscle gets sore from being worked so hard, so the alleve helps the inflamation keep from making the problem worse, and the muscle relaxer helps keep the muscle from going into spasm.

See if your doc will give you skelaxin or something to take for a week or so and you can get alleve off the shelf, but doing nothing will make it all last a lot longer.

16. Is Skelaxin better than Tizanidine? I have both.
Tizanidine gives me a sinus headache & fuzzy head, but that's what I brought w/ me to work.

I always take aleve, per my doc's instructions, since they took Vioxx off the market. :grr:

Thanks, SG.

18. ICE for the first 24 hours and then heat. It may be too late for the ice.

That is what you get for cleaning house. It is almost always a bad idea... tsk tsk tsk.
Hope you feel better soon.

21. Truth to tell, I know about ice the first 24 hours.
Last night I was so uncomfortable I couldn't bear even the thought of laying on an ice bag. I know I'd've been better off today for it but I just couldn't stand it.

Thanks, BL.

19. Count me amoung the slothful
And I hope it's not age. (I'm only 33!) But I get the same problems. I can be fine, then bend or turn a fraction of a degree the wrong way. Then I'm out for the count. Horrible sciatic pain.

Take it easy and catch up on some reading.
