Anyone familiar with Eleuthera?

We are going to Nassau Saturday and want to take the ferry to Eleuthera during one of the days of our vacation. Husband has always wanted to go there. But I remember it was hit during this past hurricane season and don't know how well they have recovered. Also, any recommendations on things to do while there? It appears to be pretty isolated, so maybe just beachcombing?

1. Snorkeling

for lobster and conch is pretty good...

Haven't been there in over 30 years though....

2. Oh yeah, forgot that conch is legal over there...

I live in the Keys and we can't touch it here.
