1. I'm more into thrift and re-sale shops.
But the right estate or yard sale can yield a treasure.

I'm just not in an acquisition mode currently. In fact, I have tons of crap I should get rid of. Hell, I should have my own garage sale.

2. I need some more yard furniture.
I never bought ANY when I moved into this house, and I have a boatload of deck. This year, I'm going to fix it up, paint it, and do some serious yard entertaining. :7

HEY, DU party at my house! Is there something we can use as an excuse for a party? Hmmmmmmm.....

3. That's one thing I don't have: a deck.
I don't really have the room for one, and even if I did, my a/c compressor is smack dab in the middle of my back wall. :-(

But a party at your place? I'm there! You'd be surprised at how neat the DU crowd is. :D

I wouldn't mind a replacement recliner for my 25-year-old one in the living room, but that can wait.

4. I wonder how garage sales will do this summer,
considering the price of gas, and electricity.

5. Interesting question.
Can see more people HAVING g-sales, for sure.

Can also see more people buying stuff they need at g-sales in order to economize.

6. i prefer estate sales
house tours plus shopping! and even in boring houses you never ever know what you will find going through somebody else's treasures.

and so far profitable. for my investment of $150, i have made about $700 on ebay. who knew that 63' 7 inch bust of winston churchill would get $102+.
and i have accumilated more for me.

like resale too.

8. Ebay is your friend.
My vacuum tubes and unneeded auto parts are dissipating via the 'Bay.

11. It's good for either one.
It's worked out OK for me, with few headaches.

10. For years I went to yard sales every weekend
I told everyone when they said, I love how your house is decorated, I say its early american yard sale. Then we decided to buy a new house and change the whole decor. We had a huge yard sale and we sold everything( except the Longaburger.....they were gift) and the clothes on our backs and we made $4000.00 bucks. It bought our new living and dining room set and paid for some other things we wanted/ needed. The only thing we financed was the house and the bedroom suit. We made out like a bandit. I sure miss the sales but I'm afaid to start again. lol

12. I love garage sales...
But damn.... everybody breaks the "no earlybird" notices they put in the paper when they advertise them.. (except me O8) ) ...so I always wind up just when some suckwad is walking away with just what I was looking for!

I think I'll go to some tomorrow too though.. maybe early even.

13. come over to Fort Worth, Crispini, my church is having a huge
garage sale all day tomorrow, conveniently located just a few blocks from the downtown Main Street Arts Fest.

I am working the book room tomorrow then heading down to hear Brave Combo before I go home.

If I can still stand to be on my feet, that is.

14. One of my students told me about a Yard Sale last weekend
with a 6-foot Kawai grand piano for $200.00. Someone died, or something, and they were trying to clean out the house.

ChoralScholar says "WHY DIDN'T YOU CALL ME!?!?" I'd have bought it myself...

You never know what you'll find at garage sales.
