just be patient and point me in the right direction with a link to your post ...

Of course, I can't promise anything particularly insightful, nor would I expect it :)

It's kind of long for a lounge post, but I think it's worth the read. But I am biased of course. ;)

7. That is fantastic, for so many reasons
well, first of all, I love the road. I'm actually preparing to enter grad school in english/american lit in the fall, and road narratives has been a special research concern for me, so your post was right up my alley. Also, I share the fondness for driving late at night. I grew up mostly in Wyoming, and there is nothing in the world like driving that big empty highway late at night, when you can look to all five horizons and not see a single freaking light, or any other sign of life. Talk about being alone in the world. I think it is a truly beautiful thing. Damn. Thanks for the post, and sorry for rambling :)

9. Cool
I've been out to Wyoming on several occasions so I know what you are talking about. I think the desolation of the state is a part of what makes it beautiful. It's kind of like a woman who's not pretty in a conventional way, but when you consider her personality and the unique way she looks she becomes gorgeous.

If you want some more of those late night ramblings from the road, just give me a holler. I love telling stories and I've got a lot of them to share.

12. wyoming really is amazing in that regard
I don't think there is any place in the world that is more lonely.

I'd love to hear more road tales. I look forward to more such lounge posts, and I hope I catch them. :)

8. I love the picture in your sig line
something about the twitching, disembodied heads of the fab four really appeals to me right now.

But I take your point about every man/woman for themselves :) ;)

11. I have no thread but I'm feeling generous. Here is part of message
Edited on Sat Apr-09-05 02:18 AM by autorank
I posted in the Election forum. I'm giving a guy my 'loyalty test' on election fraud. Feel free to totally ignore it. I think it's a bit oberbearing, although highly persuasive.

(I just happen to have it work space copied so I saw this thread...)

----------------
How about commenting on the core of my message:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
(From my original message)

Here is my indisputable series of proofs regarding election fraud. If there were no tricks with the NEPs, the data would be revealed for total examination.

Comment:

If there were no fraudulent acts in Ohio, the entire process would have been made transparent from pre election planning, election procedures, and post election analysis.

Comment:

If there were no problems with voting machines, tabulators, etc., the software and procedures, the personnel involved, and the entire process would be open to all for examination.

Comment:

And, if a real recount could clear our suspicions, then the odious Gov. Richardson of the small state of New Mexico would not have squashed the recount there by trying to extort a $1.5 million fee from those requesting the recount.

Comment:

This is all you need to know that the election was stolen through fraud.

13. Democracy?
yeah right ... I'd love to still believe, but all that shit about election fraud has been pretty hard to ignore since the 2000 debacle. Sigh. I'm still holding out hope for 2008, but I don't know how much of that is the alcohol talking ...
