All Artists and Cartoonists- check in Here and say Hello!
Edited on Sun Apr-10-05 07:43 PM by Sugar Smack
I want to see your stuff-your paintings, your cartoons, and your sketchbook pages. The latter especially so that I can see your thought process as you got from there to here. Please, BRING IT ON. Here are some of mine.

"Phoebe" is a comic strip I've been doing for about ten years. The watercolor is a book I'm working on now. The rest is from my portfolio.

19. I love that stuff!
I collect the work of a Uk cartoonist called Robert Thompson and pland to start collecting another tthree cartoonists soon (Bell, McLachlan and Rowson, for those who care). I draw a bit myself but nowhere near as good as you. My single best and funniest cartoon consists of a scientist looking really sceptically at a blackboard that says "The Certainty Principal". He's thinking "I'm not sure about this". The caption reads "Heisenberg experienced his greatest doubt at the crowning moment of his career".

I know, it's shit. I had another about an attention-seeking missile, but it was a long time ago. And the kitchen guide to political theory.

43. I'm kind of a perfectionist
It's not your typical water color, I developed my technique after seeing
my step mother's water colors, she was very good and I guess when I saw her stuff I just felt compelled to be better than her.

47. Here's some...
A really bad scan of a standard photo of a painting I did sophomore year of my BFA Painting & Drawing studies. The real thing looks much better. About 6'x4' oil on canvas. Take from it what you want - it's more of a joke in that it was meant to create controversy, when I had no political agenda i.e. "meat is murder", or anything else, but I wanted to inspire those reactions. Some loved it, some hated it. It was hanging in the entryway to the visual arts building for almost a full semester. I used to stop and look at it and ask people what they thought or just say "Wow, I hate this painting." You get really honest responses doing that, however dishonest it might be. One girl told me it "made her want to throw up." Haha - classic!

And this one from senior year just before I graduated. About 3'x 3' oil. A decent reproduction.

I have drawn a few things (not that great), but I'm definitely more of a music person when it comes to creating art. I have none of my music or drawings digitalized though. I do LOVE art as a fan though. Great work, Sugar Smack.

This one

would make a great desktop wallpaper. Do you have a scan in a larger size??? Pretty please???
