What's the best audio conversion utility for PC?
I have a bunch of protected, encrypted WMA files. I can't burn CD audio with them. I need to convert them to CD audio and also to MP3s for my various computers. I'm resigned to buying some program to do this, as I'm fed up with shareware limitations.

Any input appreciated.

2. Audio conversion

Try DbPoweramp. It's free, you can add all sorts of codecs, and do both single and batch conversions. I've been using it for over 5 years now and as far as I'm concerned, it's great.

If your files are truly encrypted, you'll need software with the algorithm that's encrypting them. What kind of WMAs are these? Where are they from?

The only audio-related software I've ever paid for is Nero.

I recommend checking out www.afterdawn.com for all your audio/video/CD/DVD needs - most of it is freeware or trials.

I have Nero-it came with my DVD burner. But it can't burn a music CD from these Napster files.

6. copy protect
In windoze media player, uncheck the copy protect option which is the default setting. I won't use any windoze media player files since they're so cruddy and bloated in the first place.
