3. Hmmm....interesting idea.
When I get home tonight, I shall compose a piece for wicker baskets of crickets, Zymo-Xyl and Chromelodeon.

Wish me luck.

7. I think I enjoy the concept of doing that stuff.....
...more than I enjoy the actual sound of it.

But, I'll try anything once.

I have made lot's of recordings of various non-musical instruments. Especially suspending items by waxed string off of microphones and then banging them or strumming them, etc. Oven grates sound particularly cool.

Once recorded a song with some friends using a particular bridge as the subject matter. We decided to take a tape recorder out to said bridge and taped a mic to it at various places and then would hit the bridge with a hammer, sometimes 60 or 80 feet from the placement of the mic. We then added these sounds to the song as an intro. It's something to do.

9. i hear'ya = concept stuff tends to remain just that...
conceptual. i need to get hubby over here; he's the electro musical guy. in the ole teac reel to reel days compressing ambient or acoustically based sounds (yeah, i know "doi", its all acoustic somewhere) & releasing them @ various speeds through effects or filters; compiling all with straight forward stuff yada yada got'ta have a beat etc...or not. ah, but then there was moog therefore,

let can be can

2. Aumgn
Actually the Alpha 77 was not a synthesizer, in the sense that it didn't generate sounds on its own. It was a complicated processor-- mainly a filter, I guess-- that altered the sounds of Irmin Schmidt's other keyboards so they sounded more electronic.

But you already knew that, didn't you?

Bring me coffee or tea. Oh yeah.

8. Unfortunately
Michael Karoli is dead.

Best you can get nowadays is the recent CD of Damo Suzuki live with Cul de Sac, on the Strange Attractors label. (Disclaimer: I used to play bass with Cul de Sac, but I didn't stay long enough to do the Damo tour. And they're going to Europe without me again next week :cry: )
