How did you find DU?
Me: I was surfing around one day, and ended up on Michell Malkin's blog :puke:

Well, she was blasting away at DU, which I had never heard of, so I googled it. This was last summer, and I lurked until last month when I finally joined.

How did you find DU?

1. over some links I found the Top Ten
I read those for some weeks, then I started to lurk for some months and finally joined end of January this year. Now I am addicted.

2. From Bartcop.com
It was a long time ago--shortly after the selection, if I recall correctly--and I had been reading Bartcop's site every day. I found a link to DU and came here, and have rarely missed a day since!

30. I hated my name growing up.
I was teased constantly for it. I always wanted to be a Heather or a Jennifer.
Now I can handle the name but I do get sick of hearing it mispronounced all the time.

42. Depends on the name.
My best friend named her youngest Rowdy-because she figured that was how he would act. And his first name is not much better-Sabin.

43. I like Sabin
not idea what it means, but not bad. Now Rowdy is a complete different thing. Poor boy.
My brother doesn't has a second name. And sometimes he wishes he would have one. My mom told me that if I would have been a boy, she would have named me Benjamin

7. A link to an article on the front page
from another lefty website. I don't remember the site that had it linked, but it was likely one that contained a lot of anti-war articles. That was March of '03 right around the time that the war started and I was heartbroken and angry at the same time. I posted almost exclusively in GD when I first came here. But now I'm just some lazy old lounge lizard. I've pretty much given up on politics. I'm just here for kicks, although I will continue to vote, my politicking days are over.

After finding a link to "Top Ten Conservative Idiots" I came to DU every week. The Summer of 2001 I became a DU lurker... it was daily lurking by December (LBN mostly). I spent 2003 in Brasil, where I went to cyber cafes almost every day just to lurk. :)

25. Actually, I was surfing and found it a long time ago....
...I had a username and post count totally different than mine now, but my computer crashed, had to buy a new one, and had to register all over again. I had kept my passwords to various things on my hard drive for this site and others and lost them all at the time, so I had to enter all over again....One thing I learned...when it comes to accounts, one needs to be old school, and write them down with a pencil on paper, and not keep the permanent record on a hard drive....
