I was hanging out in the training room after practice and the head AT asked if I wanted to work as first aid at a high school track meet next Friday and Saturday night. It's 5pm to 10pm each night and it pays $100 bucks a day. I jumped at the opportunity because these side jobs fill up quickly, plus I'll already be done with finals. The other day I made a fast $50 working a field hockey clinic...the extent of my job consisted of bandaging up turf burns. I imagine I will be doing even less at the track meet.
$250 bucks in 2 weeks, thats huge considering I'm flat broke and haven't had a job since summer...score!
6. well technically I won't be a certified athletic trainer until next year..
I'm still a junior but I've been doing the athletic training thing since I was in high school and when it comes to first aid care...I do know my poop :P
But these gigs are a great resume padder and fast cash. One of my friends worked a weekend long cheerleading competition where they paid her $500 and free room and board
It's great that you were in the right place at the right time. I kenw a guy that's a relator, and he would throw these neighborhood parties (always looking for potential clients) and would pay be $100 for a few hours of work. It's awesome when these type of things just fall into your lap.
