I went to a MoveOn Rally yesterday
I don't know how many of you may be members of MoveOn but they held rallys all over the country yesterday evening to protest Frist's 'nuclear option' and the stacking of right wing judges in the courts. Here are some pics:

This one is my SO.. isn't he cute?

This was my first protest and it was a lot of fun! It was nice when people would honk and yell encouragement. One guy rolled his window down and yelled 'FUCK YOU!' hmmmm.... do you think he was a republican?

Getting out and DOING something always helps. We had about 200 folks! GREAT reactions from the crowd & passers-by.

10. Yeah. It was a good rally.
Pretty laid back. About 700 people. Not very many cops (the ones that were there were cool). A professor from a local law school spoke very eloquently about international law and the historical effects on national legislation. Lots of people in suits and business attire (myself included) who had just gotten off work. (I always like to see that sort of thing, as it disproves the RW canard about the "sort of people" who attend protests.) We had fun.

11. Exactly!
There were a lot of people in business suits at mine too. There were also people of many different ages from college students to little old ladies! Yet another stereotype about protests blown away.

6. Good for you for going!
I feel bad...I bailed on the Nashville protest. I gotta make the next one.

Did you guys all stand around in a circle, saying your piece and then picking a speaker? That's what my email instructions said we'd be doing...
