Parents and in-laws both have upcoming 40th anniversaries - need gift idea
My parents are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary a week from this coming Sunday. Any good ideas for a gift? Obviously, it's a bit too late for a big party with all their friends & relatives. Normally, my brother & I take them out to dinner... but, I'd like to do a bit more than that this time around.

My in-laws, a pair of godless communists, are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary this Sunday. They live overseas, so we don't have to get them anything immediately. But, I'd like some ideas on them, too. Though, we'll probably end up giving them money.

Thanks

1. 2 $400 donations to the DCCC
That would only be $800 and it would be a great way to say you care.

4. Hmm, while my parents may vote Democratic most of the time
I don't think they're particularly partisan.

My in-laws are not US citizens, so can't vote, and are not particularly political, either.

trip away for them? Not knowing where you are It's hard to recommend places. Perhaps a mountain retreat for a couple of days, Vegas? ..
Could cost more than you're able to handle though. (not knowing your situation) '

Or.. have you recently done a portrait of you and your sibling(s) for them?

on edit *duh, CT, probably means your in Connecticut*

So a cottage near the water for a weekend maybe?
