you go over to the political forums and want to kill them. I hate when that happens! :-(

But I posted about something like this during the whole Terri Schiavo situation.

There were some people that I would not have ever dreamed they would feel the way they did. I just would not have ever guessed that that's where their heads would be at.

There were other folks, some that I never really crazy about, that I found myself in 100% agreement with.

Something that I find slightly annoying is when people post *only* in the Lounge. It's almost as if you only get to see their fun side, but never their serious or passionate side.

Frustration can bring out wild comments in people. We so desperately want to do something to make a difference. But our times religate us to a muffled minority. Thus people look to strike out any way they can in GD. They don't just want to make a difference. They have to make a difference. And they will reach for whatever can make that happen.

Think of it as temporary insanity if you must. Just remember that in times like these we need our friends to stand beside us even when the seeming taint of madness would drive others away.

I posted in the Lounge and checked out the General Discussion threads. There doesn't seem to be a hell of a lot of difference, except that some of the posts are a bit more inflammatory...whats the deal here?

21. Take your time and learn TK, each board, forum and group has its own

flavor and level of tolerance of particualer kinds of posts. The fast moving main boards mutate a lot depending on breaking news, time of day, and a host of other factors.

Lounge threads tend to be not so serious or highly personal. GD and GD:P will float some humor threads but not quite as nonsensically as the Lounge and LBN is quite a bit more proper both in thread posting and in general the average response (I dont swear in LBN but in the Lounge I'm like fuck it!).

16. Im always disagreeing with a few posters sometimes quite ruthlessly

but then Ill find myself in a bar thread having a drink while avoiding the latest posting storm sweeping DU.

Just remember 90% of true DU'ers would have your back on almost 90% of the issues.
