2. Birdland. Weather Report.
With a later vocal-ized version by Manhattan Transfer.

4. Manhattan Transfer rocks
or "jazzes". Does you mean that Manhattan Transfer wrote the lyrics for Birdland?

7. They wrote *some* lyrics for Birdland, echoing the instrumental parts
...sort of a semi-scat.

"Down them stairs, lose them cares. Where? Down in Birdland."

9. Kind of like when Bill Murray sang lyrics to "Star Wars" on SNL
He was the lounge entertainer at an airport or a ski lodge.

"Star Wars, give me those Star Wars,
When will those Star Wars....end"

(Yeah, that's cruel comparing Manhattan Transfer to Bill Murray)

3. Supposed to be 90 here in S. Texas
I turned the a/c on this morning because the breeze died and it was too hot to sleep. And so it begins.

11. Ahhhh, summer in Houston
- the humidity, the mosquitos, the snakes and lizards that my cat kills and brings to the back door, waiting until 8:00 p.m. and after to do anything outside, 3 showers a day and high utility bills - how did I get so lucky?
