Poll question: Your laptop: touchpad, external mouse, or eraser-stick thingy?

Me: The eraser-stick thingy. I'm too non-dextrous and uncoordinated to use the touchpad (I'm always dragging my thumbs over it.). And I never remember an external mouse.

I type fast and if I use the eraser stick thingy, I never have to move my hands from the keyboard :).

Plus the touchpad is too slow.

My laptop has a touchpad which I hate. I prefer the eraser stick thingy (called a trackpoint) to it, especially for typing. But overall, I prefer and external mouse.

I don't like it a lot. If I have a lot of work to do I use an external scrolling mouse.

because that's my preference.

If no mouse available, or no table -- I use the trackpoint (eraser thingy).

Sometimes the touchpad mistakes my delicate touch for a mouse click. I hate that.

20. I work in a "paperless" medical office. We all carry around little

silver e-notebooks when getting patients ready to see the doctor. Mine has the little eraser-stick thingy. I'm not crazy about it; I'd much rather have a real mouse. But it beats the hell out of the thumb pad.
