BEST SNL MOMENT IN YEARS!
Oh God. I nearly died laughing.

More Cowbell!!!

I even said to my dh before the show, 'I hope they do something with the cowbell skit, but I don't know what they could do...' I am glad they are more creative than I am.

Just Awesome.

2. That was pretty darn funny
My favorite Will Farrell moment is when they did a Jeopardy skit awhile back and Sean Connery picks the topic which is "THERAPISTS" but he calls it "The Rapists" - I almost died when that happened!

7. that guy cannot sing. not one little bit.
but then came the cowbell. Maybe it was that much more funny for me since I saw Kicking and Screaming this afternoon, but I nearly choked when I saw him on stage.

4. You mean
They actually performed more overdone hack bits from their recent past?

Sorry. I wish I could have laughed. Had they actually done something interesting, unusual and funny with it, I probably would have, but it was the same old tired, poorly thought out sketches they've been been performing since the last time they were chastised by the network for being critical of the network sponsors.

Somebody kill SNL and put us all out of our misery. Please, I'm begging you.

8. I only catch it occasionally.
I love the News, Tina Fey is a riot, imo. The worst was late 80's by far.

I seriously don't get the Nuni, Nuni sketch. and the cartoon was waaaaaay out there, but the host kicked ass this week! Same old shit, but I love his shit! Call me crazy if you want, I loved it.

14. It wasn't a sketch. Ferrel walked on stage while the band of the evening
was performing a song that featured amongst other things, the cow bell.

9. I agree. We laughed our asses off.
Now I have no ass!

Weekend update was pretty funny as well. They slammed Bolton.

And I loved the Cartoon. Very thought-provoking.

10. That cartoon really took it all the way, no holds barred.
I thought it might be a commentary on torture by the US...how about you?

11. That was exactly the point
that I felt it was making. the "hero" wasn't content to save the kids from the Arab dude. He had to torture him, torture his mother, etc. it really hit hard, but I doubt many people will 'get it"

12. If I would have known Queens of the Stone Age were on last night
I would have been prepared to tape it. The first thing that entered my mind when I first heard that song on satallite radio was Will Ferrel and the cowbell. When he came on stage when they played it I fell out of bed crying in laughter.

15. That and the Smigel cartoon were all I saw last night.

When Ferrell appeared onstage with the cowbell, I had my first genuine laugh from SNL in a very, very long time.

ETA: now that I think about it, I also saw Weekend Update, but I guess I pushed it out of my head because it was so unfunny.
