ALERT!!! 9-11 ( not September 11,2001!)
Edited on Thu May-19-05 07:58 PM by serryjw
Just heard on the news people who are talking on VOIP and do not have a landline are not connected to 9-11 for emergencies ..If you or anyone you know gave up a cell/landline to save money please tell them this....It could save their life.

Namaste!

3. I have no problem with
you having VOIP to save money as long as YOU KNOW that you don't have 9-11. IF you have a family teach them that any emergency calls MUST be made on your cell phone..IF an emergency happens that isn't the time to learn.

Vonage, the main VoIP provider in the US, is currently rolling out a plan for proper 911 service, but it's going to take several months to implement.
