What is the difference between pate and cat food?
Edited on Thu May-19-05 08:18 PM by AlienGirl
I'm eating vegetarian pate. It comes in a little can that you have to peel the top offof, just like cat food. It has a consistency just like cat food. It even smells like cat food. If this is an accurate representation of what pate is supposed to be like, what's the difference between it and cat food?

Besides the price, I mean.

13. Actually
one of the gourmet magazines did a taste test story once, where they fed canned pet foods to a bunch of chefs and critics-- and they served it up as if it were pate, sliced thin on little crackers, and the tasters all seemed to think they all passed as pates-- at least, nobody critiqued it on the basis that it tasted like cat food. Some brands were better than others, but I can no longer remember which got the good grades.

I once got my cat to eat a slice of carrot-- because it was the garnish from a canned pate, and was totally marinated in liver aroma.
