22. That doesn't outweigh the good parts of Jedi - Jabba's palace, the Rancor,
the battle of Endor, the death of the emperor, Vader comes back to the light.

12. sith was amazing because of the original trilogy

23. I automatically judge all the movies as part of the six part series
Although I did like the action in Sith, especially the opening space battle.

7. My list...
1. ESB
2. ROTS**
3. ANH
4. AOTC
5. TPM

**I just returned for my first :) viewing of ROTS and I must say that, despite my lofty expectations, this movie surpassed every one of them.

The scenes when the Jedi are killed remind me of 'Godfather I' when Michael Corleone orders the assassination of the heads of the five families, while he's attending his godchild's baptism.

Ian McDiarmid, as Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious was great, but Ewan McGregor impressed me the most. He has very big shoes to fill (Alec Guinness') and he did a great job. I must also say that Hayden Christensen did a very good job in showing his emotions and, like many others commented, part of me actually felt sorry for his portrayal of Anakin's descent into the Dark Side.

I personally did not feel that the movie suffered from cheesy dialogues and scenes. The few 'love' scenes were brief and not too shudder inducing. I think this is the kind of movie that needs to get into your system and needs to be seen more than once. I believe that this movie will be considered a classic on par with ESB in the long term.

Needless to say, I am eagerly awaiting to see it again on Saturday!

8. I couldn't agree more
RotS was completely captivating from the very beginning. Unlike Clones, there are no dull moments, no ultra-cheesy lines that make you cringe. Just fun and excitement throughout. The opening space fight is quite possibly the most exhilirating space fight in the entire series.

9. Not a final ranking, but...
1) Empire Strikes Back
2) Revenge of the Sith
3) Return of the Jedi
4) A New Hope A.K.A. "Star Wars"
5) Attack of the Clones
___________________________
6) The Phantom Menace

The line indicates that I dislike TPM and like the others. TPM has its moments, but overall is quite boring and way too much exposition.

*SPOILERS WARNING*

I thought ROTS was excellent. Not to say there weren't things I'd have changed - particularly Anakin's actual submission to Sidious/Palpatine is WAY to quick. I would have had a Jedi witness to Anakin playing a role in Windu's death, have that jedi rally reinforcements. Anakin should suddenly run away from Palpatine, telling himself he will do the right thing, only to run into a pack of jedi who he slaughters for his survival. Or perhaps, have him fight with Palpatine before submitting. SOMETHING - it's just too abrupt.

Palpatine shouldn't reveal himself to actually be a Sith until towards the end. Until that point, he should merely train Anakin in some dark arts (incl. perhaps having Anakin train on saving lives - that could be chilling in a Frankenstein way to watch Anakin kill, Frist-style, perhaps storm-troopers in order to experiment and try to save them). Palpatine could have stuck to the excuse that he merely knew the Dark Arts but *knew* them to "know his enemies." Only then, let Anakin figure out himself that Palpatine is the Sith Lord.

Also, I think that more should happen when Anakin/Vader finds out Padme is dead. He should simply be told he had failed. He was not powerful enough yet. Or at least dwell on the moment more and do it without the cliche "NOOO"

*END OF SPOILERS*

But then again, there are things I would change with ALL the movies - even a couple minor things from A New Hope and ESB - for instance, I think Luke should be called Luke Lars initially until Obi-Wan tells him his father was a jedi and his real name is Skywalker. And in Empire, maybe have Vader take a moment to watch an old hologram of Padme. And don't get me started with ROTJ, which I love nonetheless. This is b/c I love these stories and I have my own speculations and details that I have in my head. But all this is just entertainment for my imagination. This is Lucas' movies. YES, there are flaws, but there are always flaws. And I think one of the big reasons people hate the prequels (AOTC was much better than people give credit for - relatively weak, but good nonetheless) is b/c it doesn't happen like they imagined it would.

I guess I'm rambling. All in all, I was very happy with it. I need to go back and see it again and now I really want to read the novelization b/c I think it would make things clearer.

10. Here it goes (again)
1. The Empire Strikes Back
2. A New Hope
3. Revenge of the Sith
4. Attack of the Clones
5. The Phantom Menace
6. Return of the Jedi

BTW, Palpatine's conversation with Anakin regarding Darth Plagious was the best written, and best acted scene, in all six films.

14. I haven't seen ROTS yet
but my ranking of the others are:

Jedi
Empire
New Hope
Clones
Phantom

Judging by what I've heard, ROTS is likely to go in slot 1 or 2.

15. Empire, Beginning, Menance, Jedi, Clone... (I haven't seen Sith yet)
I hated JarJar Banks & that kid in Menance but they were a hell of alot better than those Ewoks in Jedi. Plus Menance had one of the best characters & fight sequences with Darth Maul. Clone was just ruined by that horrible romance between Skywalker and Amidala.

27. Okay, I have not seen Sith...
But after I do, I bet my list looks like this:

A New Hope
Empire Strikes Back
Sith
Return of the Jedi
Clones
Phantom Menace

I still like New Hope better than Empire. That shit on Hoth is so boring (aside from the walkers)! Luke's rolling around in the guts of that TaunTaun (sp?) moaning, "Ben! Daygobah system! No!" Puh. Leez.

And I might reverse order on Clones and Jedi but I'd have to watch Clones again. Last time I watched it with lower expectations and enjoyed it pretty well. Plus, the Ewokes bite ass.
