Hubby said the funniest thing tonight while watching Star Wars
"What is the Rebel Alliance doing to reduce its consumption of foreign oil?" :spray:

This during the scene when they were fueling the X-Wing Fighters for the battle to blow up the Death Star.

I think we read DU too much. ;)

2. We still haven't seen the new one. :(
We were watching the original ones on DVD again first, and when he saw them refueling, his first thought was Peak Oil. He's so weird.

I'm more confused about how Princess Leia said she remembered their mom but Princess Amadala dies in childbirth. That, and how some Jedis simply vanish when they die and others don't. Too confusing for me. ;)

3. My brother is fixated on the Leia thing...
every time I've talked to him the last couple of weeks he's been irritated that Lucas left that out there. He wants to know if she meant Padme (un-bloody-likely) or her adopted mother. He gets fixated on the weirdest shit.

4. That's bothering me too.
I don't know why, it just is. There are other things too, especially since I saw the Episode III last night, but I know very well I get fixated on the weirdest shit so I usually keep my mouth shut.

5. My best friend's pet peeve is pretty funny too...
She cringes in the original Star Wars (I refuse to call in A New Hope) when Obi-Wan and Vader are fighting and Obi-Wan calls him "Darth" as if that's his name. She gets quite het up about it. :)

11. Well, it would be nice if it were clarified.
It sure seemed like Leia meant her real mom. I'm confused, and I haven't even seen the new one yet. Does Padme really get killed off?

Another question from last night: why aren't there more women? What, that part of the universe hasn't heard of the feminist movement? Lucas doesn't think men will watch a movie with more strong women in it? He thinks we'll put up with it?

7. I liked the discussion in "Clerks"
about how the rebels are, in fact, just as evil as the empire.

8. "You think the average stormtrooper
knows how to install a toilet main? All they know is killing in white uniforms."

Lucas clears this up in the Episode II audio commentary: it's the Geonosians who work on the Death Star, so no innocent contractors lost their lives. :)

12. Maybe it was more clones.
They had the storm trooper clones, the plumber clones, the construction worker clones, and more like that. ;)
