I finally watched "Episode I" last night. Never saw it before.
Episode II tonight, then I can take my youngest son to see Episode III.

My older sons told me that I ought to be ashamed of myself for not seeing them earlier.

I still like the original 3 better after watching Episode I.

1. The new ones are a slap in the face to those people who
grew up loving the original "Star Wars" movies. Lucas ought to be ashamed of himself for tarnishing a such a great legacy.

2. I feel so sorry for you!!!
It would have been better had you never been born, than to have watched The Phantom Menace.

Make sure you fast today before watching Attack of the Clones. It's easier to clean up if you haven't eaten a lot, though dry heaves aren't much fun either.

3. I'd have to agree, Lucas is way kid friendly these days
and the hooey about "the force" actually being caused by microatomic organisms (miticlurians or whatever) is a bunch of crap. He should have just left it a fictional religion.

4. As a huge Star Wars fan, I can say that Epi1 was more or less crap.
30 minutes of interesting footage crammed into over 2 hours of Jar Jar Binks. But on the plus side, the worst of it is behind you, and they do get better each time.

Its quite voilent.... you really have to be careful...

There is an explanation of midichlorians in Revenge of the Sith.. its not so ridiculous after all.

As a super Star Wars fanatic... I can't believe you aven't seen Ep I or II til now... there are many redeeming qulities to Phantom Menace.... Duel of the Fated music, Qui-Gon Jinn... the Jedi Council... it all rocks... as for attack of the Clones...the chase scene, all the fighting jedi.... Jango...

Most of all... these movies are primarily about abuse of power by Senator turned Chancellor turned Emperor Palpatine.... its truly brilliant explanation of what happened before A New Hope... When Dubya "came to power" in 2001 I imediately saw the corelation between him and Palpatine.... well more so Rove and Palpatine... I'd say Dubya is Anakin... he cruised his way through an exclusive club (though W has no real talent) is the tool of evil and actually the father of fraternal twins.... I say Barbara turns him to the light side.

Hey I saw A New Hope back in '77.. loved the Old Trilogy, but have really enjoyed the Prequels .. I mean they have Jedi chicks!!! Finally I can be a Jedi chick!

6. How'd you like it?
Episode 1, I mean.

I loved it, and have seen it several times. I think it really started to cook for me when I realized how 10 yr old Anakin is easily the smartest person in the room for most of the movie. He puts on this "innocent child" act, but he is actually manipulating the entire course of action.

Fantastic movie- just fantastic. Don't be a hater, it gets you no where and sure won't help you connect to you youngest son. (Who I'm sure loves these movies as much as we loved the originals in the seventies.
