Vello Ricotta Salata cheese. What is this stuff, it's awesome!

I just found it at the 99 cent store. This is my new favorite cheese. It is so good! This would be $5 at Albertson's but I'm gtting it for $.99. SUUUUWEEET!!!!

While it lasts. :^(

Anybody know anything about this cheese? Origins, etc. It's white and slightly crumbly, tastes a bit like feta, but a bit more pungent, I think. Not quite as salty.

A quick Google didn't turn up much of anything.

I would say less pungent than feta, though.

Great with olive oil, basil, tomatoes. Ummmmmmm. Summer's coming; it's my fave combo.

It's actually a phake name they created for plain old cream cheese after it goes bad.

they repackage it and sell it at discount outlets.
