Yoga enthusiasts - WTF?
I've noticed a pattern that whenever I meet someone who's into doing yoga, they always try to get me to come to a yoga class, like in a prosletyzing kind of way. ALWAYS. Like when we part, it's "So I'll see you at yoga sometime, RIGHT?" What is WITH that? When I meet someone new, I don't try to involve them into what I like to do for recreation, like I don't say "So I'll see you at the next inaccessibly noisy underground rock concert, RIGHT?"

And it's not that I'm incurious about yoga or unwilling to try it out, but man, that shit creeps me out enough that I'm wary about going.

1. A big part of yoga is believing intensely that it's the best thing ever

And that can be a little irritating. I, for example, prefer being inflexible and mentally disorganized and wish they would stop trying to convert me to their stretchy mysticisms.

6. Stretchy mysticisms!
That's gotta be one of the best terms I've heard this week! Now I know what to accuse my sister-in-law of: "Oh, you and your stretchy mysticism make me want another cigarette!"

3. I know what you mean
It's like when I used to see people from the "family". One night they said "Hey, so Charlie and us would like to see you at the next creepy crawly thingie, it's gonna be up in the Hollywood Hills in August". I was gonna go too, but I was too busy diggin' the new Beatles white album that night.

5. Huh. I've never noticed that.
Of course, I'm into yoga in a mild way so I always like meeting people who will drag me to yoga.

Soooo..... see you at yoga sometime, right?

7. Remember - for some, yoga is also religion, not just stretching
To me, it's all just stretching. If I want to stretch, I'll stretch.

8. It reminds me of the Atkins fad a while back.
I just "had" to do Atkins, even if I was already pretty fit and am on a medically prescribed diet, for pity's sake.

Look, people, it's great for you, I'm happy you're happy, but please--STFU, thank you very much.

Some of the Atkins wackos made me wish for a Jehovah's Witness interruption--and I'm NOT kidding!

FWIW, I have done yoga in the past, enjoyed it, but felt no need to proselytize about it.

9. This would be the yoga class where they tap a keg and
take smoke breaks, right? Otherwise, I'm having a little trouble with the visual. :P
