I'm listening to "White Wedding" for the first time in years.
I'd forgotten just how much I enjoy this song!

What the heck ever happened to Billy Idol?

1. He just put out a new cd. He's back with Steve Stevens.
He played South by Southwest here in March.

2. I'll bet it's good music.
Has he calmed down, or is he still punk/radical?

3. I didn't go see him, but my friends did.
They said he was very good, and hasn't calmed down TOO much.

4. ``I still smoke pot, I still drink,"-a TRUE hero.
Billy's no fallen Idol

He's still full of Rebel Yell and he's on his way back, writes Kimberly Reyes

Weekend: April 23-24, 2005

Few musicians can boast the level of success that Billy Idol attained in the 1980s and early 1990s. Unfortunately, the "live hard and die young'' punk rock ethos doesn't come with a middle-age survival guide.

"When you're young you never think you'll be a 50-year-old rocking out with the young bands,'' Idol said.

That's exactly what Idol, 49, hopes to be doing next year.

The pop-punk patriarch has just released Devil's Playground, his first full-length album since 1993's unremarkable Cyberpunk. With five million-sellers already under his belt, Idol hopes Playground will return him to the top of the charts...

5. I saw him 2 years ago and fell in love with him all over again!
He sounded better than he did in the '80s. Probably because he's sober these days. Anyhow, he was fabulous and I'd highly recommend going to see him if he makes the rounds this summer.

My favorite part was when he sang "Don't You Forget About Me" which was recorded by the Simple Minds. Before he sang it, he said that the song had originally been written for him but that he thought it might soften his image too much (or something to that effect) so he passed on the recording. Needless to say he regretted it after it had so much success. He sounded great singing it and even when I hear the Simple Minds version today I can only hear Billy.

6. Crazy, I was just listening to his Greatest Hits CD in the car today.
I love Billy Idol.

He put out a CD not that long ago, it's pretty good. :)
