Anyone else going to a baseball game this weekend?
I'm going to tonight's Diamondbacks-Tigers game. I want to stop by Greektown beforehand but I'll have to hit the road early if I want to do that. (driving from East Lansing)

Anyone else going to a baseball game this weekend? Big league, minor league, high school or little league it doesn't matter! I'd love to hear it.

Or you can post your fondest baseball memories.

When I get back from the D tonight I expect to have some replies so...

hop to it baseball fan DU'ers!!

:)

6. Hopefully the rain holds off
I see Smoltzy and Clement are scheduled to start today. Should be a good game.
The Tigers already had four rainouts this year if I'm not mistaken. I think they were able to make up one so far.

7. I hear ya
Detroit just being at .500 is amazing enough for us.

I really want to make it out to the Jake for a game this year.

I smell a road trip!!

8. sweet!
I'll never forget the '89 world series. I was stationed in Alameda at the time and my roomate was in attendance at the original game 3 when the earthquake hit. He didn't get back to base until after midnight because he had to hitchike his way back from Candlestick.

I hope you snag those tix!

4. Going to Little League practice with my son.
I'm not much of a baseball fan in all honesty, but I love to watch him. :)

9. I understand
My ex didn't care for soccer but loved watching her daughters play. Heck, it turns out that I love to watch kids soccer too. (especially the girls 'cause they seem so... fierce) I don't care for the professional levels though, just haven't gotten into it. Maybe with the world cup coming up again I'll become a convert but I really don't think it will happen.

5. Four of them!
Both boys have regularly scheduled Little League games this afternoon, and both of them also have rain-outs to make up on Sunday.

10. Busy weekend!
Hopefully the weather will cooperate and they can complete the make-ups. What are the rules for a regulation game where your boys play?

It looks like it's going to rain here. Detroit's already had their fair share of rainouts so I'm hoping they get their game in today. The weather has been nuts lately.

Good luck to your boys!

11. The rules are somewhat convoluted.
If the home team is ahead after 3 1/2 innings, then that's an official game and we're done. However, if the game is tied, or the visiting team goes ahead in the top of the 4th, 5th, or 6th innings, then the game is resumed at the point which play was called. In one game we are the visitors who took the lead in the top of the 5th; and in the other we are the home team who fell behind in the top of the 5th. (Damn, just typing that gave me a headache!)
