I just got back from seeing Star Wars Episode III, and...
My overall feeling was, if Lucas had made a few minor additions to this film, he could have just dispensed with Episodes I & II all together.

I enjoyed Episode III. Definitely a worthy addition to the Star Wars legacy.

1. I don't think thats his style...
See, the first star wars movies was 3 movies..
Indiana Jones was 3 movies...
And there are 3 new star wars movies..

I think he does movies in 3 doses.

2. The human-CG interaction is a fine *concept* but,
there's just not enough there for the actors to bite into. That's one reason these new films have some 'dry acting' issues. Though I still think that when viewed as a whole, these movies will come together a lot better and tell one fine tale. Like Lord of the Rings.

Long-term, this human actor/ CG actor interaction has to be nailed down. Lucas is a pioneer, but he doesn't have it just right, because the humans just don't have the chemistry that they had back in the Muppet days.

4. I agree, I find there's too much
detail and too many things whizzing about compared to the original three movies.

A lot of the scenes look great as sort of huge science fiction paintings but there's no sense of intimacy or solidity like there was in the old ones.

3. Yeah, pretty much.
Not a lot happened in the ep. 1 & 2. Those two could have at least been combined.
