Loose Pigs and Flaming Dog Doo
If it weren't for a daily feature called "Law Enforcement Roundup" my local newspaper wouldn't sell many copies. It's usually better than the comics.

Here are a few recent highlights for your enjoyment. All are exactly as they apeared in the paper.

Flathead County Sheriff's Office took an exasperated call Tuesday from Crossroads golf course, where loose pigs were causing damage. The caller wanted the animals removed and was prepared to start shooting if they weren't.

Kalispell police counseled a student who said a martial-arts instructor attacked her; the instructor said it was an educational event.

At Glacier Manor, a resident called police to say a man said "boo" to her in the laundry room and scared her.

A resident on Danielson Road reported someone decorated a vehicle with toilet paper and left a bag of dog feces decorated with a bow on the drivers seat. A note was left warning the resident not to let her dog run loose.

Kalispell police took a report of seat covers with geckos, sunglasses and candy valued at $400 that was taken from a vehicle on Second Avenue East.

A woman reported she was offered money to beat someone up.

Kalispell police were called Friday about youths shooting marshmallows at cars on Fourth Avenue West. The youths agreed to eat their ammunition instead of shooting it.

Prescription pain-killers were stolen from a vehicle on North Meridian Road. A briefcase was stolen from International Design. Three concrete gnomes were stolen on West Nicklaus. A bike was stolen on Kelly Road.

Kalispell police were called by a stunned resident on Third Avenue East who said someone knocked on his door, blew an air horn in his face when he opened the door and left in an older Lincoln car.

A bear cub was treed on North Fork Road.

Students on a field trip to the Somers boat launch were subjected to people stripping on the beach.

Flathead County Sheriff's Office was notified of three porcelain monkey statues stolen from a business in Bigfork.

Flathead County Sheriff's Office was called late Monday night about a driver who kept running his truck into a building on U.S. 2 and yelling for the manager to come out. He wasn't found.

A grizzly made itself at home in a back yard on Prairie View Lane.

A woman told Kalispell Police that she found a flaming “bag of dog doo” on her porch. She put it out with water, according to the report.

A half-naked man was reported at the high school Thursday night. Officers found a man who had stripped off some clothing when he overheated playing basketball.

1. I was in Marion last month
I loved the Kalispell area. Fortunately did not encounter any bears or people driving trucks into buildings I was occupying.
