Embarrassed to say ... I got lost in a corn maze on Friday night
I mean, walking-around-in-circles-for-hours lost in the maze.

Luckily my GF had her kids with her so we just blamed them for being lost :eyes:

Don't know how popular they are in rural America, this is the first I had ever seen and it was awesome!

2. I was going to go to one on Saturday. . .
but the South California fires made the trip impossible. My sister-in-law and I were going to a take a passel of girlscouts. Maybe next weekend if the fires can be controlled.

I did it about five years ago with my kids. Great fun. We were up near Santa Barbara and the maze (the Amazing Maize Maze) was cut in the shape of the Santa Barbara Mission. Took us over two hours to wend our way to the end.

3. Sounds like The Shining
Scary. I got lost in a maze in a haunted house once and it freaked me out. It wasn't all that big, but the walls were all mirrored and they pivoted in the center, so the maze changed as people pushed the walls. Not only that, but there was a randomly timed strobe light pulsing on for a split second and off for 3 seconds, so it was dark most of the time.

The special brownie I ate beforehand probably didn't help the situation.

8. if i found myself in a corn maze
i, too, would consider myself lost.

actually, i did have great fun once in a true english hedge maze, at longleet castle.

for the uninitiated, good mazes use bridges, so the "right hand rule" (always turn right) doesn't work.

9. Wrong "Rule"... Try The "Touch-A-Wall" Rule Instead...
... if you're stuck, simply reach out and touch a wall and don't "let-go" until you're out. You may either PHYSICALLY touch the wall by dragging your hand along, or visually 'touch' the wall---either the left or right will do---and you'll always find your way out.

You'll circle through some dead-ends, obviously, but you'll never back-track if you ONLY follow paths that haven't been "touched"... but only if you don't stop touching.

13. I avoid them, so as not to embarass myself in front of my
children. They are a lot of fun. Next time, where light up shoes. ;)
