Saudis pray for ailing king, await news
RIYADH (Reuters) - Saudis prayed on Saturday for King Fahd and anxiously awaited news of their monarch one day after he was admitted to hospital suffering from pneumonia and fever.

Mohammed Sulaiman, a 47 year-old businessman, went even further in his speculation.

"I actually think he is already dead and that the authorities are holding out on telling the people so that the news doesn't come as too much of a shock," he said, sipping coffee at a roadside cafe.

Sulaiman said it was unusual for the government to issue a statement saying the king had been seen by doctors. "In the past the government would wait until after the king had been discharged from hospital before telling people."

1. Dead Already
It would startle Wall street on a weekday. If he dies today (Saturday) the traders have a day to think and oil prices might not increase as much. If he had died on Friday the PPB would have jumped even more.

But, I don't really know.

2. I'm calling BS on myself.
The increase in the cost of oil might help Bush (I think). Does OPEC get more $ if our PPB goes up? Or do the people trading futures in NY and Chicago? If the second scenario is the the case a price increase should help Bush supporters.

The election in 2006 is far away. I doubt they (.gov) give a fuck what people pay at the pump right now.
