14. I believe Massachussets might find some now and again. And I hear they
have something like lobsters out on the pacific coast.

Not sure how they stack up tastewise with ours.

(Mind you, I don't really care for sea bugs. Would rather have clams, scallops, and mussels any day and twice on Sunday. Except that would make me very very ill, I am sure! *lol*)

17. Have you heard of a Massachusetts Lobster, everyone knows
the Maine Lobster may wander into Mass or NH, but he or she is not home. Pacific has no claws, not as good in my opinion.

After all the rain last month, I thought I could deal with ANYTHING rather than more rain...the heat wave of last week KILLED me though, so I am NOT complaining about the funky rainy weather any more...

Nice pix...

And yeah, NO MAINE BASHING folks :)

34. Who needs Maine to cool off when you have Door County, WI?
The bay of Green bay to the West, lake Michigan to the East, it's like Ma Nature's big air conditioner!

23. Sweater?
I'd consider longjohns at this point. Steady cold drizzle only broken up by downpours. But Sebago on a sunny day? Nothing finer.
Hope you (we) catch some nice weather again soon.

19. Mainiacs tolerate out of staters pretty good
Wintah is protection from being overrun year round.

Summer on the coast (preferably on a island OFF the coast) is the best place to be.

Have they lifted the red tide warning yet? I should go home for a visit but I'm not wasting a trip if there's no steamers.

21. Honestly I have no idea on the red tide.. Our family rarely eats seafood
beyond tuna in a can. Prices are a bit steep for the stuff for us locals and we don't ahve a family beach to go clammin' on anymore. :(

Bet you could find out online if the warning's been lifted though.

31. What a shame there are no public flats near you
One of my brothers is a lobsterman so that covers the bug supply. The clam flats we used to go to are all off limits now. When I was a kid we used to pick up periwinkles off the rocks and steam them. We would never think to eat a mussel. How times have changed.

28. Thanks for the pics...
I'm moving back up from Florida in a week, and your pictures have made me even more impatient and excited! My husband is already up there, and I couldn't believe he had to turn the heater on the other night! Six years of living in Florida have definitely thinned his blood......

Edited on Wed Jun-15-05 06:52 PM by Liberalynn
I love your state and wish I could move there. That's the biggest part of my dream. I'd like to be a real life Jessica Fletcher and write mystery novels in Maine, except I don't want to acutally solve mysteries or be a widow.
