The Food Network is the Sign of the Apocalypse
Edited on Tue Jun-21-05 02:40 PM by Writer
What do you say about a nation that houses a television network committed to food and the preparation thereof? Sort of... Romanesque? Gluttonous? Heathenist?

The Food Network emerges, and it can mean only one thing: the end is nigh. Fat, pudgy Americans committed to celebrating their obese nation by heralding an entire television network committed to stuffing their faces.

This alongside the Outdoor Life Network which celebrates the physical endeavor of the human spirit.

Must we decide? Must we REALLY decide?

The End is Nigh.

Edit: to make sure that people understand: :sarcasm: :eyes:

Food Shows don't lead to obesity
They lead to good food and culinary education. I like mucking about in the kitchen and find the info on some of the shows I watch quite helpful.

6. Not the end but the beginning
of a consciousness that food can be a big part of joie de vivre.

This is a nation that drinks beer and almost everything else ice cold so that even what little taste there is in Budweiser is closed down. A country that eats more for the way it feels than the way it tastes.

The nation is over-fed - let it be well fed instead.
