4. weLL
i saw kathLeen as the name, and hoped it was another kathLeen (damn!) so i opened it... most of these maiLs go to my spam box.

i just get pissed when one gets through... then i get pissed that i can't threaten the person who sent it.

B) everything they send is bogus.

C) Never open any mail from anyone you don't know. Delete unread or report as Spam, according to your e-mail client's capabilities.

End of problem.

8. I put a spam filter to automatically delete anything with my name....
...in the subject line.

Most folks who email me usually don't put my name in the subject line. They know it's me they're sending an email and I know who I am.

That elimiated a ton of spam. The spam idiots think if they send an email with your name in the subject line you won't have a clue that it's spam and think it's someone who knows you

about 75% of my spam has "Larry" or "Larry smith" in the subject Line

(as in "Larry smith wipe out your debts today")

i have no idea how that name got associated with my emaiL.

10. I love my spam!
Edited on Thu Aug-18-05 08:18 PM by Hardhead
Some of it is inventive, some just funny. I can never decide if I should grow my penis an extra three inches or increase my bustline several sizes.

But my address was once faked to spam a pr0n site, and I got angry emails telling me to stop it or else. And I'm like, dudes, I had nothing to do with this. I promise you I am not connected in any way with (name of website too vulgar to even mention).com.

I've always wondered: does the real-life VICE PRESIDENT OF THE NIGERIAN PETROLEUM COMPANY have trouble getting people to take his emails seriously? He's probably like, "No! Really! I AM! I AM the vice president of the nigerian petroleum company! I'm legit! See? I'm not even talking in capital letters!"

14. They usually spoof the "from" addy--typically it belongs to someone
who had nothing to do with the spam. Maybe you should remove the email address in your post.
