are things going s-l-o-w?
Friend in another town can't get to his home page (AOL), husband's homepage is stuck on August 18, and he can't get to his email from there (MSN), I have had 2 - sent to both aol and yahoo addresses bounce back with error messages today and I couldn't get a Mexican bus website to load for anything this morning. DU seems kinda slow too. Anybody else have any of these problems? Anybody want to check the bus site for me?

2. I'm not sure what that means exactly
but thanks! Any idea why husband's homepage is stuck on last week? Refresh does NOT change it, but if he goes in from say google it is fine. Oh and oldest son's hot mail is stuck on the 19th! (5 accounts on XP home - I am the only one on our server's e-mail so I am the only one using OE for email)

3. a traceroute explained (hopefully)
A traceroute is a network test that checks each "hop" on the network path to your host you mentioned. (the mexico one)

Traceroute records the time for one small tiny packet of information to travel between each peice of network hardware.
(your dsl modem, your ISP's central "switchboard", and the big ISP providers hardware. Each one has an internet address, and is known as a "hop" )

From the list I pasted into that message , from hop #5 down, the hosts show good response times for the hosts UNTIL it reaches the mexican ISP.
255 milliseconds is one quarter of a second. That's slow for the internet. Most hosts have a better response time, and no "time outs" which means that the packet just couldnt reach its destination.

(I was hiding my own address from everyone, the first four hops have my internet addresses on it.)

I don't know enough about outlook express to help you on that other thing :)

5. No, the site seems down.
I couldnt get any web page from that address.

The host is up, meaning i got a reply to the host, but the web service is shut down it looks like. this is usually because of billing issue with the ISP, but it could also be a configuration problem.

try and find the ISP who hosts that site (the administration website and send an email to the admin about it, I bet it's shutdown for lack of payment or something)
