There is a spider on my monitor
I'm pretty sure it wants to eat me up.

What should I do?

1. To smash or not to smash; that is the question.
How big is it?

5. I'd flick it off and watch it scurry away.
As long as it's not heading for your bedroom!

2. Spiders are our friends!
Unless it's poisonous.

Kill it, and you get stuck killing all the flies, fleas, gnats, noseeums, midges, chiggers and mayflys that the spider never got the chance to kill for you.

3. Just kidding.
I don't smash unless it looks like it's really going to come after me.

6. Ahh, the troublesome paradox that is arachnaphobia
I usually make my wife kill them. I get all clenched up in fear.

8. Speaking of spiders...
Edited on Wed Sep-07-05 11:10 AM by Left_Winger
I'm a teacher and the students are always bringing things to show me. Well, last week a student brought her pet tarantula to school and set it on my desk without telling me. I have learned how not to react in a startled manner on the outside, while on the inside I'm going OMG!, OMG!, OMG! When she failed to scare me, she picked it back up and returned it to its "carrying case". BTW, she had brought it in for her biology class.

10. The worst happened five years ago
A boy found a one foot black snake on the way to school and brought it with him. I saw it sticking its head out of the boy's pants pocket (he was wearing those really baggy pants).

Just a suggestion.

12. Catch it in a cup and take it outside.
Spiders are our friends... they eat other bugs!

I love them, even though they sometimes bite me and leave nasty marks. :)
