Okay...I'm a "little" bit addicted to "My Super Sweet Sixteen"....
I mean, the kids on that show are just so damned obnoxious and spoiled that it is fun to parody and mock them. We have fun. It just blows my mind.

And so, daughter G askers me,"What are we doing for MY Sweet Sixteen?" I told her I might bake her a cake.

Spoiled rich kids plan Sweet Sixteen birthday parties that are just over the top with bitchery and overspending...

Sample comment," I KNOW my party cost more than my parent's wedding...but I'M worth it.

it's just crazy.

7. I stopped Survivor a few seasons ago. I haven't seen Amazing Race...
Perhaps I shouldn't. I am goofy in my television tastes. :hi:

4. Dear God in heaven ...
The teenager watches that show. You know, I've seen a lot of TV I wouldn't have otherwise seen thanks to her -- some of which I kinda liked, like the show where they videotape people in their cars singing along with the music. That's good television.

But och, the sweet sixteen thing ... :D

8. Oh, what IS that show?
The one where they tape people singing in their cars. I'm always suspicious of a camera in my car because I absolutely ROCK OUT on the way home from work.

5. It's a monstrousity. . .
It's almost abusive to pamper the brats like that by rewarding meanness with parties. I've seen a few episodes and I really hate the way that the kids treat the parents, but ESPECIALLY other kids.

9. i keep wondering how much lower it can get
i thought that girl from last season with the arabian night theme was bad. but many this season are far worse.

there have been a few that were ok and respectful such as the girl last year who was a high achiever with the mother who was more of a party girl. and that boy this year who put on a fashion show.

but that one girl ordering her mother around with the moulon rouge party is probably one of the worst.

if our family had that much money to spend i would want to take a trip to other parts of the world. but then these people are looking for attention and want people to feel jealous.

how about that girl who brought her friends from i think new mexico to see her new rich life and how it was sooooooo important they tell the other kids about the life she had now.

10. I hate that show with a passion...
My "sweet sixteen" (just a few weeks ago btw) was an ice cream cake and a few gifts. No car...no $5,000 outfit...just a small party with the family...but I was happy with it. It was all I wanted.

These kids are so spoiled. Their birthday parties cost in over a hundred-thousand dollars. They get cars (one cried because she didn't get the car right away) even thought they can't drive.

12. Have you seen the show with the rich kids working on a cattle farm?
I think it's on the same channel. Good lord... I think some of them may be sociopaths, they have no concept of reality.

15. I loathe that show.
Just a bunch of priviledged assholes-to-be trying to make everyone else in school feel bad about not being invited to their A-list spendfests.

Worst people on television.

17. MrsG, if you're not willing to put out $200k for your daughter's 16th bday
then what kind of mother are you.

:sarcasm:

I've seen that show on MTV and I can honestly say I've never seen a more useless group of young girls in my life. I pity the men that marry these young girls because those men will never be able to make them happy knowing that Mommy & Daddy were so willing to bankroll an obscene amount of money so out there that 1000s in New Orleans could be fed for a month with the money they spent on a birthday party.

I think your daughter should be greatful for the cake!

18. That show should be called "When Parents Go Stupid"
I've seen it and most of those kids are beyond ridiculously spoiled. Those kids talk to their parents like they are beneath them. That is one time I thought that a spankin' could come in handy!!

20. When the nuclear holocaust comes...
...you can rest assured that all of these spoiled little rich girls will be catatonic without ready access to a cell phone, imported water, and Manolo Blaniks. They'll be wandering the wastelands in what's left of their overpriced low-riser jeans and Versace tops screaming in frustration over their inability to book a table at the local "hip" eatery.

Meanwhile, Mad Max will look at them and shake his head in disgust before riding off to clobber the bandits that will try to make these girls their bitches.

I'm just sayin'...
