My 2000th post! Come say hi to me!

Wow, getting from 0 to 1000 took awhile, but since I have been hanging out here in the lounge more, going from 1000 to 2000 hardly took any time.

Allow me to say that I love DU, and have come to have a very special place in my heart for Heidi and The Nighthawks (you know who you are).



Also, just wanted to share -- today my husband, daughter and her boyfriend had an "Almost 50th Birthday Party" for me (b-day is actually next Saturday). Here's a picture of me with my cake -- I was cracking up at how the three of them sang "Happy Birthday" to me! (The cake was delish, and by the way, I really don't have a bullfrog neck!)

I graduated in 1973. You know where the Ford's Diner and the cleaners are on Mohawk, across from BiMart? There is a busines across a little side street from the cleaners. That used to have my family's house on the corner. Then we moved to a house behind BiMart, which is now a credit union or something. And, both my sisters work at McKenzie-Willamette, my mom is retired from there, and my daughter was born there! Wow, small world.

I know of Fords Diner. We used to throw shit at them for supporting the OCA in high school. The Bi-mart next to the DMV? I know the place. My sister had her twins at McKenzie-Willamette five years ago today. Small world indeed. And my grandpa helped build Willamalane.

50. The swimming pool/park?

That was one of my favorite hang-out places, and I was on swim team in junior high, and the Willamalane Pool was where we held practices and home meets!

I learned to swim there. I loved that place. My first freak-out on a high dive was there. The roof was falling apart a few years ago and they had to close the place.. I think they got it fixed.
