How do you report a death to your alma mater?

I want to report my death to my alma mater because I'm sick of them asking me for money and to f*** with them in general. What do I have to do, just send a email?

4. That might be a bad idea

My alma mater publishes deaths in their magazine. Do you really want your college friends to believe that you died? Would it upset your family if they were sent condolence cards in response to people who had seen the announcement?

If they did, I would have heard from a few people by now. Believe me, nobody will even notice. My parents would think it was kind of funny.

5. i moved to stop the mailings from my am

i got several requests for donations before i got my diploma in the mail. i laughed out loud at their every request. while i was in school our student groups had to fight for everything we got, which wasn't much, then they had the balls to ask for money based on the great treatment of students there.

i got a call one day from a member of my graduating class asking for donations, i told her i would gladly contribute-once i had paid off all my student loans, and that she should call me back in 10 years.

But.... I PAID for what I got. I don't owe them anything.

It's like Wal-Mart asking for donations. It's asinine.

7. Although I didn't get a free college education

I did get over $50,000 in scholarship money, which was given by alumni for scholarships to needy students like myself. This allowed me to go to a top tier private liberal arts college paying less than $3,000/year for tuition, room, and board while I was in school (I still have to pay off my government subsuduzed loans). This allowed me to focus on getting an education and participating in student activites rather than having to work all the time.
Last year was a tough year with my husband being out of work and some medical bills so we didn't give. The other years though, I have given and designated the gift for scholarships. I believe that I got a quality education at my alma mater and I want to make sure that good students, regardless of financial means, have that oppurtunity also.

8. I was on a vocal performance scholarship

and I EARNED my money, believe you me. We rehearsed sometimes 15-20 hours per week. More on a tour year. So, I really don't feel like it was handed to me.
