The Wolong panda breeding center has had a banner year, with many cubs born this year to several different mothers

Voting has started on a name for the new baby GIRL panda at the San Diego Zoo:

Here are the choices:

JIAO MEI: sweet and charming
JIAO YAN: delicate and charming
SU LIN: a little bit of something very cute
BAO BEI: precious, priceless, a treasure
ZHONG DA: great, important, significant

Maybe you can do a "reverse Shainghai" on MrG. He'll wake up in the Far East a little groggy, but none the worse for wear. Then, after being nuzzled by an adorable baby panda, he'll say "Thank you for taking me here!"

5. My, my, my...Now that makes me smile!

They are so sweet. I spend more time at the panda cam, than I care to admit. I must check on that little bugger 3X a day during the week, and more than that on the weekend. I can't wait to see him really start to crawl. Yesterday I watched mom and him play. It was so adorable! She's such a good mom!
I think I like Su Lin also. I like the meaning, and I'm sure I can pronounce it!
Nice to run into you, MrsGrumpy! I think I heard somewhere, here or from SharonRB that you were a panda fan. Me, too. They are just so damn cute!

platform and it always makes me smile. :hi:

12. When I was watching mom yesterday...

she was on the platform looking down at the little guy trying to crawl. That's when she got down and started rolling around with him. Honestly, he looked like he was giggling as she rolled him on her belly. She was so gentle and careful. Then she rolled him again and gave him a bite to eat, put him down, and got back on the platform. So entertaining!
