4. I derive my entire self-worth from it.
:loveya:

Just imagine how loved I'll be with my JD...because, as we all know, lawyers are cuddly!

Future Ambulance-chasing-corporate-bashing-leftie-liberals of America. :)

I wonder if there are any lawyers on DU who would like to point out good opportunities for summer associates.

The graduation presents were hefty and highly appreciated. :P

Actually, no. I feel depressed because I have a few college degrees and yet, here I am, back in school.

Apparently there aren't any big philosophy companies in the city. Who knew? :)

6. Nope. All the jobs it's good for are going overseas or simply going.
So why should I waste ore money in education?

(my sig line also has a damning article on education. From Techrepublic's website, the article is called "The Education Scam" and should be a must-read by EVERY American. I am always for education, of course, but the article is an eye-opener nonetheless.)

not a single one of 'em has gotten me laid, hugged, cuddled, kissed, etc.

So I guess the answer is no.

Khash.

Have you seen some of those sign on bonuses for nurses?

NUTS!

23. I've seen the bonuses.
Most of the places that offer bonuses have suckier work conditions though. Not always, but frequently. Still though, I'm quite looking forward to my salary doubling in a little over a year and a half. :D

13. Without my degree I would have nothing with which to value myself
I would be nothing but a degree-less disgrace. My entire self-definition hinges on that college degree.

you are seriously messed up. I'd sleep with you even if you flunked out of high school! (Just sayin', doesn't really mean anything.)

27. not true!

You can think and write! That's a rare commodity. You just have to know how to market yourself or pick a career that will emphasise those talents.

17. Nah, not here on DU.......
People here love me, God knows why.......

But my college degree didn't hurt when my husband was taking me out with an eye to marriage....he was getting his Ph.D at the time......

I think that for me, the college degree helps me feel respected...

And respect is the basis for true love, IMHO......

This is an interesting thread, BTW...thanks for posting it.....

But the fact that I'm working on one makes me feel like part of the wonderful intellectual liberal elite hellbent on co-ruling the world with Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden. Quite loved indeed.
