I just bought a new car!
Some of you may remember my kid totaled my car Tues night. Today we went and cleaned out the old car (made the kid do all the work!) then we went car shopping.

I got a Scion. Not the box looking one but a sportier model. I am making a lower car payment and will save on my car insurance. I will also be getting 35 mpg and around 40 mpg on the highway!! And I bought all the prepaid maintenance stuff so I never even have to pay for an oil change!

Here is a picture

Life is good.

Oh I will also have a satellite radio so I can once again listen to AAR. I had Sirius in my other car so I lost AAR this summer.

And if my kid even touches this car he will die. :)

1. While I'm sick with jealousy.....I'm glad you got a new car!
New cars are the best.

I read about your kid totalling the car....geez. Glad he's okay. Unless, of course, he touches your car.

Congrats!

3. Sweet. But, I hate car payments.
Great choice, but I still drive my 1996 Buick Regal GS, with all the bells and whistles, including the great 3800 V6 GM engine, still one of the greats. 170,000 miles and no engine trouble, ever. Wow. An old design - pushrod, not fuel injected - but tons of power, and reliable as hell. I will stick with that next time, too.

4. That's great
I have bad luck with older cars. I put a lot of miles on my car and literally live out of it. Hubby buys clunkers and pays cash. I make payments and buy new cars.

Here is a better picture:

10. It means I am seriously considering driving to Crawford for Thanksgiving!
Are you going?

Kid goes to court in 20 minutes. I hope they throw the book at him.

13. Awesome! Congrats on the new car!
I'm seriously thinking about getting a Scion xA when my car dies. ( (I love my sweet little paid-for-car! )

I'd love to know what you think of it after you have it a couple of months! I hear it's a fun and well designed car... would love to hear more opinions though! :hi:

18. So far I love it.
But it only has 15 miles on it :) My friend and I are taking it on a road trip Saturday so I will be anxious to see how it runs on the highway.

I know what you mean about car payments. I consider them a fact of life. And this car has such a great warranty; I don't even have to pay for oil changes!

Scions are like Saturns. The price is set and not negotiable. Then you add the extras. I declined the GPS/DVD player - it was $2700!
