I was listening to the radio show "The Car Guys" today and they were talking about Daylight Savings Time. One of their listeners sent in this idea and I thought it was brilliant!
Instead of the spring forward/fall back crap that we have now, here is how the new system would work. Every day at 3:30pm, every clock in the country would be set ahead to 4:30pm. This would mean that people would get out of work earlier, they would be enthusiastic about shorter days, productivity would go up and America's workers would be happy workers. Also, it would give everyone more daylight after they got off work; this would also make people happy.
Then, every morning at 4:30am, the clocks get set back an hour! This gives everyone an extra hour of sleep and they wake up feeling refreshed; this would also improve productivity in the work place.
What do you think? As I was typing this, I realized that this plan would totally screw over anyone who worked the "graveyard shift" by adding an extra hour onto their work day. How about we let these people go home an hour earlier? Sounds fair to me.
