Using this folkloric character, the Japanese building construction firm Anabuki has created the Little Red Riding Hood Anabuki Chan character and used her and the usual fairy tale animals in an advert campaign aimed at the habitation starved Japanese market. So what are tanukis? Well they are Japanese dog-raccoons of the canis family (see pictures) distinct from pure raccoons, called araiguma.
